While it may be sexy to have a big, strong man pick us up and carry us caveman style, this is not the Stone Age era. Don't be that little girl who wants her daddy to protect her so she expects her man to protect and defend her. Women are doing it for themselves in so many areas of life. What was once considered man's work, women are now doing the same thing and better. Men and Women do not get this confused with the notion that a man is not to be a gentleman and a woman should be treated like a man. Men, it does not mean that a woman who is taking care of herself should not be treated with the utmost respect.
Men, a Woman being your equal does not negate the respect you should have for her. She is not usurping your position as a man. Women, doing for yourself does not mean that you should not respect a man for being who he is. Doing for yourself means that you learn to take care of yourself, protect yourself (I don't mean birth control) and stand up for yourself. It is okay to expect emotional support from a man, however, not all men know how to deal with problems. Therefore, if you leave your life in the hands of any man, you are relinquishing your personal power and if a man doesn't know how to handle things, it will only serve to make things worse for you.
A man once told me, "Truds, a man wants a woman who can handle herself and who can stand her ground. Just as how a woman doesn't want to be a mother to her man, a man also doesn't want to be a father to his woman. If something gets out of hand and he needs to step in, then he will. He wants to see that his woman is strong like a lion, can stand her ground, won't let herself be pushed around and that she can protect the family with or without him, maybe even protect him if it comes to that. A strong and powerful man will also be the same for her. He also doesn't want to usurp her position as a woman and insult her by treating her like a fragile little girl." That was some of the best advice a man ever gave me. I was just leaving my teenage years and that advice served to empower me to become a woman who can stand on her own two feet with or without a man. Interestingly enough, when I left my teenage years, it were men who taught me how to become a strong and powerful woman.
Women, standing powerfully on your own two feet have nothing to do with feminism. Does a man being a strong, powerful man has anything to do with male-ism? No it doesn't. It is ridiculous to label a woman as being a feminist, a lesbian, a dyke or any other terminologies used in an offensive way if that woman refuses to be the little woman and have a man think for her, or allow a man to do things in her best interest as if she has no brain of her own. Some men do not even know their own path, but they are still expected to or they want to dictate/lead a woman. The truth is not all men can stand on their own two feet. They need a woman to think for them. Women, you cannot think for yourself and think for a man also. Your mind will crash and so will your life. In the same manner, if you depend on a man to protect, defend or be for you when you need it and he is not able to then your life will crash.
As a child, you needed your father, your brother or even male cousins to protect you. If you had that, you may have carried over that expectation into your adult life expecting a man to always take care of you. You may have been taught that a man should protect his woman. I was taught that too, however, I was not taught how to stand on my own two feet without a man. If you did not have that, you may still be looking for a man to protect you in the way that your father, brother, cousins should have. Matter-of-fact, you may have gotten the wrong attention from men in your childhood. I will go deeper into more of that in another article. Regardless of what you had or didn't have in your childhood, you can now create the life and existence you desire without needing a man to take care of you.
Women, take care of your own well-being. That is your responsibility whether or not you have a man in your life. Even if you are in a relationship with a man, still stand in your own power and take care of yourself. Allow no one to think for you. Own your own mind, own your own life and direct your own steps. Do not put a man or anyone else for that matter in charge of your life. Become complete in yourself so that you will be attracted to a man who is also complete in yourself. When you are standing strong and powerful in yourself, handling your life, weathering the storms of life on your own, having a man who matches who you are is paramount to anything.
You want someone who will complement you, not someone who completes you. Anything other than that will only serve to create clutter and chatter in your mind, thus causing chaos, confusion, keeping your life stuck, messed up and derailed. You cannot have that. You need to have your mental state clear of any clutter and chatter. You need to have your mental state about you. When you clear the clutter, chaos and confusion out of your mind you will then be able to direct your life POWERFULLY!
